Everyone experiences the world differently, and housing should reflect that.<\/p>\n

The right housing can make everyday life easier. It can support people’s health, safety, education, employment, relationships, and overall well-being.<\/p>\n

Neuroinclusive housing includes flexible spaces and systems that adapt to different needs, preferences, and ways people think, communicate, sense, and move through the world.<\/p>\n

Selon le droit international, un logement ad\u00e9quat est un logement qui offre un mode d\u2019occupation s\u00fbr, qui est abordable, qui est habitable, qui donne acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019infrastructure de base, qui est situ\u00e9 pr\u00e8s de l\u2019emploi, des services et des commodit\u00e9s, qui est accessible aux personnes de toutes capacit\u00e9s et qui est adapt\u00e9 sur le plan culturel. Depuis l\u2019adoption de la loi en 2019, la p\u00e9nurie de logements et la hausse des co\u00fbts ont intensifi\u00e9 les difficult\u00e9s dans le domaine du logement.<\/p>\n

L\u2019initiative sur la neuroinclusion dans le logement men\u00e9e en collaboration avec l\u2019Institut d\u2019accessibilit\u00e9 s\u2019est termin\u00e9e en novembre 2025. Bien que cette initiative a pris fin, notre travail continue.<\/p>\n

L\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 un logement s\u00fbr, stable et neuroinclusif demeure une priorit\u00e9 pour les personnes autistes ou neurodivergentes et leurs familles, partout au Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nous continuons de d\u00e9velopper ce que nous avons appris gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce travail et utilisons ces connaissances pour renseigner les conversations, ressources et politiques dans le secteur du logement au Canada. Ce travail a aussi des liens avec le R\u00e9seau national de l\u2019autisme et la Strat\u00e9gie pour l\u2019autisme au Canada. These videos were created in November 2024 as part of the Neuroinclusivity in Housing Inititiative with the Carleton University Accessibility Institute. While the inititative has ended, the work continues.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Safe, stable, affordable, and neuroinclusive housing remains important for Autistic and other neurodivergent people and families across Canada.<\/p>\n

We continue to build on what we learned through this work and use those lessons to help inform housing conversations, resources, and policy in Canada. This work is also connected to the National Autism Network<\/a><\/span> and Canada’s Autism Strategy. Neuroinclusivity in Housing aims to inform the advancement of affordable, sound, and suitable housing, as prioritized under Priority Area 2 \u2013 Economic Inclusion.<\/p>\n
